A Case Study

''No More Drama'' Expo Tackles Low Self-esteem Among Teen Girls

The Challenge: 

 

To boost attendance at Embracing Your Future Association's 2008 and 2009 "No More Drama" teen girl self-esteem conferences, attract media coverage of the events, and gain more business and community support. 

 

The Strategy:

 

Developed public relations campaigns involving email marketing, flyer distribution and targeted media outreach, web marketing and a popular radio personality as emcee.

 

The Results:  

 

  • An increase in conference participants from 30 parents and teen girls in 2006 to 150 in 2008 and nearly 400 in 2009.

 

  •  News features in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Defender, Lawndale News and The Times, and interviews on WYCA (102.3 FM), WVON (1690 AM), WPWX (92.3 FM) and WBEZ/91.5 FM.
